SleepyBid is an AI assistant that helps freelancers bid on Upwork. This page explains, in plain English, what data we handle, why we handle it, and the control you have over it. We keep what we collect to the minimum the product needs to work.
The short version
- The SleepyBid Chrome extension runs inside your own browser and your own Upwork session. We never receive your Upwork password or session cookies.
- We store only what the product needs: your account details, the profile you import, jobs captured from your own browsing, the proposals we draft, and usage and billing records.
- We never sell your data, and we never use it to train models for other users.
- You can ask us to delete your data at any time.
What we collect
We collect and store the following, and nothing beyond it:
- Account details — the email address you sign up with, and basic account settings.
- Your freelancer profile — the profile information you choose to import so the AI can write proposals in your voice.
- Job postings — job listings captured from your own Upwork browsing session by the extension, so we can score them for fit.
- AI-generated proposals — the cover letters and screening answers drafted for you.
- Usage counters — how many jobs were scored and proposals drafted, so we can enforce plan limits and show you your activity.
- Billing state — your plan, trial status, and subscription status. Payment card details are handled entirely by Stripe; we never see or store your card number.
What we never touch
By design, SleepyBid never captures, stores, or transmits your Upwork password, cookies, session tokens, or login credentials. All actions on Upwork happen inside your own logged-in browser, on your own account and connection. Our servers never connect to Upwork directly.
Why we use it
We use the data above only to provide the service, specifically to:
- Score jobs for how well they fit your profile.
- Draft tailored proposals in your voice.
- Track your usage against your plan and improve your own results over time.
- Manage your subscription and support your account.
We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not use it to train AI models that serve other users.
Who processes your data
We rely on a small set of trusted third parties to run the service. Each receives only what it needs for its job:
- Stripe — processes payments and manages your subscription. Your card details go straight to Stripe; we never see them.
- Anthropic — the large language model provider that scores jobs and drafts proposals. The relevant job and profile text is sent to Anthropic for this processing.
- Voyage AI — generates the text embeddings we use to match jobs to your profile.
- Our hosting provider — runs the servers and database that store your account data.
Text sent to our AI providers is used to serve your request and is not used to train models for other users.
How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as your account is active and you use the service. If you close your account or ask us to delete your data, we remove it from our systems. Some records may be retained briefly where a processor (for example, Stripe) is legally required to keep billing records.
Deleting your data
You can ask us to delete your data at any time by emailing hello@sleepybid.com. We will delete your account data from our systems on request.
Cookies
This landing site sets no cookies and runs no third-party trackers. The SleepyBid web app uses only the functional session cookies needed to keep you signed in — never advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
